Today, I’m smoking the Spanish gold from Aj Fernandez called the new world dorado, and here’s the run down. Right off the light there’s a hard core nasal burn. In the draw there’s cinnamon, and pepper, it’s woodsy, with a sweet wrapper. I’m tasting vanilla sometimes. It has a good smoke output and seemingly good construction. Medium strength. The after taste is sweet cinnamon and a bit syrupy. Long finish. This would make a good ice cream flavor. Nice big sunset type of band. There’s some leather and nuttiness. Thick chewy smoke. It’s nicely balanced. Maybe a slight cedar. It’s earthy. There’s coco. This is very tasty. Full flavor. I think any smoker could enjoy this one, weather you like dark or light cigars this is somewhere in the middle ground. Definitely has complexity. I’m going to go ahead and say that this is a must try. In a few draws it’s slightly salty, but In a good way that adds something nice to the flavor profile. Like salting a steak. Here in the second there’s a charred fresh bread note. Nutty with a cedar fade to it. The retro hale has added a leather flavor and has smoothed out to a white pepper. Theres a creaminess that’s come into the profile. I’m just starting to try the new world blends and I must say, I’ve been impressed. A little red pepper flakes on the tongue. In the final third the flavors fade a bit and the strength is medium plus. Overall it’s a really flavorful cigar. My score on this came out to a 92.
