Original Item. Only One Available. Peter Bauchop is an iconic South African knifemaker who was active during the 1970s and 1980s. His knives went all over the world and were purchased and used by many in the armed forces. His knives were a favorite of South African Special Forces. This example came to us from the Larry Thomas American Edged Weapon Museum in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, further cementing its authenticity and prestige. This is a great example of a Bauchop knife dated 1985 on the blade. It sports a 7 ⅛” black point clip blade with sharpened top edge. The hilt has a black stainless steel guard and grinds on both sides. The skull-crusher pommel is removable to store something in the handle. The overall length is 12 ⅛”. The ricasso is marked with the logo of BAUCHOP on one side, and on the other side with 85 / 600. 85 denotes the year of manufacture, 1985. The original nylon scabbard is in good service-worn condition with a lace held within the front pouch. The snaps are all in working order and really make this a versatile piece. An outstanding fighting/survival knife by an iconic South African knifemaker. Ready for further research and display. Specifications: Blade Length: 7 ⅛”Overall length: 12 ⅛”Scabbard Length: 13 3/4″
